Daisetsuzan, also referred to as “The Playground of the Gods,” is a vast territory of smoking volcanic ranges, hot springs, clear lakes and untouched forests. This tour offers a unique opportunity to ride and hike in Japan’s largest and oldest national park. Climb to the roof of Hokkaido and be mesmerized by volcanic plumes of smoke rising to the sky or marvel at the mountain flowers that can only be found in this region. ITINERARY

Day 1 (Arrival Day)
Transfer to a hot spring village in the Daisetsuzan National park. Relax in the thermal hot springs of your hotel.

Day 2 (21 km/ 13 miles)
The short ride today gives you time to do a longer hike either to the summit of Hokkaido’s highest mountain or a walk around its base. Then the ride portion will take you to a gorge which is another hot springs village in Daisetsuzan National Park. The area is beautiful with lush forests and waterfalls.

Day 3 (54 km/34 miles)
Today’s ride is along secluded roads past rice paddies and rolling hills. You will stay in one of the most photographed towns in Japan for its charming landscape of brightly colored fields. Take a panoramic ride over the picturesque ‘Patchwork Hills,’ stopping at the various famous photographic points. There are plenty of cafe options on route.
